April Snaps

What a lovely month April was, finally spring showed up a couple of times!
I enjoy the sun so much, it makes me such a happier person.
I spent quite a few days enjoying some drinks and lunch's in the sun, I also passed for my driving theory test, I'm still so happy about that!
If everything goes as planned I'll be having my full drivers license this mid summer, yay!

This month I got a new tattoo, it's a music note [treble clef] on my wrist, read about the meaning here.

I hope you guys had a lovely April too!

The Art Of Traveling Alone

Hi Guys,
Today I wanted to talk about something a little different, this is not about photography [that much] or fashion, it's about traveling solo, and why you should!

A lot of people can't see the beauty of traveling alone, and some might even think you're crazy for doing it. And maybe it is a bit out of the ordinary, but who cares? Take a chance!

Last year I went traveling alone for the first time, and I fell in love with the entire 'traveling solo' concept, right away. It's only normal for you to be a little nervous, but trust me, with the right preparation, there's nothing to worry about.

Be Prepared

As much as I love to 'seize the moment', I also like to be super prepared at the same time. When it comes to traveling, this isn't a bad thing.
Especially when you're on your own, you want to make really sure you have everything well prepared.
I always feel like the part from the airport to the accommodation is where us solo travelers have to be a bit careful, but once checked in and settled down, that's when the fun begins.

 1. Research how and how long it's gonna take to get to your accommodation, when possible I recommend ordering tickets for public transport in advance, in the comfort of your own home.
 2. Keep your hand luggage well organized, keep all your documents in a sturdy pouch or folder, and keep it in an easy to access place. I recommend making copies of everything and keeping those in a different place.
 3. Carry enough cash, but don't keep it all in one place. [this one's common sense really]

Enjoy, Alone

So, now you're there, on your own, what are you going to do?
Go out, explore, get lost, live
I can not express in words how lovely it is to wander around in a strange city, not having to discuss any left or right turn you take, enjoying the different surroundings.
Me being a film photography fanatic, I enjoy walking around with my polaroid camera, capturing all the lovely things around me.
Here are some tips of places I like to visit:
 1. Shopping area's, especially antique markets, thrift shops and artsy neighborhoods.
 2. Museums and art gallery's.
 3. Big, old library's.
 4. Starbucks [great place to sit down, write in your travel journal and be surrounded with other people].
 5. Take a walk [or run!] down the park.

So if you ever get the chance to travel alone, I really think you should give it a try!

March Snaps

I almost forgot to post my instagram pictures for the month March, just like my friend Nieke , but fortunately she tweeted about her post, so reminded me of it. Thanks doll!

This month was a very busy month, had some work meetings I had to attend to, did some shopping, etc.
Lush's So White bath bomb and an Hermes brochure I got in the mail.
My beloved Red chucks and a brand new scented candle which smells like Apple's!
There's no use in throwing away faded Polaroids, so I write quote's on 'em!
My new Vans, perfect summer shoes!
Cloudy day and my DIY'ed studded iPhone case.
Sweater with leather shoulder pieces + New Vans
Pretty Coffee and me waiting on the bus.
New yellow sweater and my [uncomfortable] Adidas kicks.
Bought my first MAC product and Sephora was having a sale.
New denim jacket and a pretty turquoise easter egg.

february snaps

February went by so quickly, it's crazy!
It has been hardcore winter the last couple of weeks, but I am pleased to say that as of today, the weather is getting slightly more pleasant, the sun is showing up more and longer, and it's lovely.

I've been enjoying wreck this journal a lot this month, for some reason it feels so liberating to, well... wreck a journal.
Another exciting find this month was this lovely store called Rain Africa, it's a company that sells handmade bath / skincare products, using natural ingredients with African origins.

I also picked up the Cupcake face mask from Lush, and because I turned in 5 empty Lush jars, I got the mask for free! I tried it once and really enjoyed it.

Hope you guys had a good month,
Much Love,
Ray.

january snaps

Last month I've spent a lot of time at home, reading books, shooting Polaroids and listening to the lovely soundtrack of Breaking Dawn (pt 2).
Since I got the flu, which lasted for 3 weeks, I didn't really feel like outdoor activities.

I did go to the Abercrombie & Fitch flagship store in Amsterdam earlier this month, which was amazing! I really didn't think that I would like it, but to be honest, it was such a different, great experience! I bought some awesome ripped skinny jeans and a jacket.

Honestly, I'm glad to say that I'm a lot better now and I'm ready for February to be a better month!

Been really enjoying this book Instant Love

London

I went to London for a couple of days earlier this week, I just had to get out of the country for a little while, I needed some me-time, escape the every day life.
So on thursday I decided I wanted to go, went to the train traveling agency, and my trip was booked for monday. Pretty reckless, no?

It was my first time traveling alone, but I knew I would have an amazing time, London is my all time favorite city after all!
And what a wonderful time I had, November is an amazing time of year to visit London, the entire city is decorated in lovely Christmas decorations.

Here we go:

I've figured out that joy is not in your arms

I think it's time to run cause i'm seeing stars
I'm seeing stars
